Matters of the Heart: Support for the G. Melikyan Foundation
The Educational and Sports Complex of Gazprom Armenia CJSC donated part of the proceeds from the New Year’s charity exhibition-fair, collected by the employees of GAU, to the Gurgen Melikyan Fund for Large Families of Kashatagh.
To hand over the collected funds, the Director of the Foundation, Alexander Grigoryan, hosted the President of the Foundation, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Professor, and long-time Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies at Yerevan State University, Gurgen Melikyan; the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation, literary critic, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor, long-time Dean of the Faculty of Armenian Philology at Yerevan State University, and Honored Scientist of the Republic of Armenia, Artsrun Avagyan; Board Member and Honored Artist of Armenia, Shmavon Shmavonyan; and Foreign Member of the Board and independent researcher, Tony Kahve.
The Director and members of the Institute’s management expressed their gratitude to the Foundation for its efforts and hoped that these activities would continue for many years to come.
A. Grigoryan stated that the Foundation is always ready to support patriotic institutions, continuing the best traditions.
G. Melikyan noted that the Foundation continues to engage in charitable activities and provide support to large families, thanks to the generosity of caring individuals. “Our meetings at this institution are heartfelt gatherings, held with the purpose of being and remaining Armenian, and I am grateful for that.”
A. Avagyan expressed the deep gratitude of the large families who received support through the Institute to the members of the management and student council. He also read the letter of appreciation presented to SSU by the “Gurgen Melikyan Foundation for Large Families of Kashatagh.”
At the end of the meeting, the Foundation representatives watched the New Year's musical performance by the GAUS Theater Troupe.
