The Sun in Darkness: A Performance Dedicated to Victory Day
The GAUS theatre group of the “Gazprom Armenia” CJSC Educational-Sport Complex staged a new performance titled “The Sun in Darkness” in commemoration of the victory in the Great Patriotic War.
By interweaving scenes from World War II with Yeghishe Charents’ poem “The Frenzied Masses”, our students portrayed the bloodiest conflict in human history, the unbreakable spirit of a man at war, and the wholehearted devotion of a loyal woman.
The performance concluded with the GAUS choir’s rendition of the song “Cranes.”
At the end of the event, the artistic director of the theatre group, Armen Kushkyan, noted that the students had sought to convey both the cruelty of war and the sweetness of victory. He wished everyone peaceful skies.
The Director of the “Gazprom Armenia” CJSC Educational-Sport Complex, Aleksandr Grigoryan, thanked the performers and said: “The Great Victory is our history, the memory of our grandfathers. I congratulate us all on this occasion.”
Recalling the international success of the GAUS theatre group, the Director also awarded certificates of appreciation to its members.
