Geography Without Borders: Students from the State University of Armenia Participate in International Competition
A solemn ceremony was held at the Educational and Sports Complex of Gazprom Armenia CJSC, during which certificates of appreciation and souvenirs were awarded to ninth-grade students for their active participation in the Classroom Geography project competition organized by the Russian Geographical Society.
The competition is traditionally held in Russia, but this year, thanks to cooperation with the Our Future Foundation, Armenia became the first foreign country whose schoolchildren participated in the project, showcasing their knowledge and creative abilities on the international stage.
Out of more than 300 schools that submitted applications to participate in the competition, only 50 teams, including the team from the complex, advanced to the second stage.
In the second stage of the competition, students from the State University of Armenia prepared and presented a theatrical lesson dedicated to the contributions of the renowned researcher Gustav Ivanovich Radde to the study of Armenia. The performance combined historical facts, theatrical elements, and a creative approach to presenting the material, making the lesson both educational and engaging.
During the official meeting, the General Director of the Foundation, Vahram Karapetyan, on behalf of the Russian Geographical Society, presented certificates of appreciation to the complex director, Alexander Grigoryan, and the geography teacher, Lusine Hakobyan.
The students also received certificates of appreciation for their active and effective participation in the competition.
