The Birth of the Armenian Year: A Return to Its Origins

The students of the 3rd "C" grade at the Educational and Sports Complex of Gazprom Armenia CJSC celebrated the traditional Armenian New Year, Navasard.

During the event titled The Birth of the Armenian Year, the students presented ancient Armenian traditions, explaining their origins and significance.

During the event, the most important rituals of Armenian ancestors were performed: purification to prepare the home and soul for the new year, sweet words to ward off evil, baking tarehatsi and Asil-Vasil as symbols of the year’s success, as well as hotekakh and nut games to invoke the goodness of the year.

To celebrate Navasard, the students were visited by the Kaghand Pap, who conveyed seven sacred messages, ranging from respect and diligence to peace.

The event concluded with the Msho Kochari dance, each beat symbolizing unity and the enduring power of permanence.
